Where your data goes, step by step.
Follow one request from your firm to the AI provider and back, then see what is kept, where, and for how long. We state the limits as plainly as the protections.
From your keyboard and back.
Your firm
You paste, upload or forward something: a document, an email, a contract, a transcript, a description of a matter. You decide what goes in.
Your call: Ramtek suggests keeping sealed filings and other highly sensitive material out.Encrypted connection
Everything travels over TLS 1.2 or higher. Your sign-in lives in a protected cookie that scripts on a page cannot read.
Optional: two-factor sign-in on every account.Ramtek application
Checks who you are and which firm you belong to, adds your state and firm settings, and sends the AI provider only what the request needs. Your firm's data is kept apart from every other firm's.
Not offered: per-matter permissions. People at a firm share its clients, matters and saved results.AI model provider
A commercial AI provider processes the request through its API. The provider's terms bar training on it, and Ramtek does not train on it either. Each request is separate; the model carries no memory of other firms.
Kept: the provider may hold the request up to 30 days for safety monitoring, then deletes it. Ramtek has no zero-retention arrangement.Back to your attorney
A draft, analysis or set of proposed deadlines comes back. Nothing is sent, filed or signed for you. A lawyer reads it, edits it and decides.
Your duty: every output needs attorney review. PDF and Word exports carry that reminder.Saved in your account
The result is saved to your firm's account so your team can find it again. For an analysis of a pasted or uploaded document, the document text itself is not saved, only the analysis and a short title taken from its start.
Visible in: the tool's history, and the firm's AI Activity Log with who ran it and who reviewed it.
What is kept, where, and for how long.
| What | Where | For how long |
|---|---|---|
| Saved drafts, analyses and emails, with the description you typed for a draft or email | Ramtek's database, in your firm's account | While you subscribe. 30 days after cancellation, then permanently deleted, with a reminder email about a week before. Earlier on request. |
| Text of a contract, opinion or transcript you analyze | Not saved by Ramtek | Used while the request runs. Only the analysis and a short title are saved. |
| Firm library documents, clients, matters and deadlines | Ramtek's database | While you subscribe, then the same 30 days. Firm admins can delete library documents at any time. |
| The request while the AI processes it | AI model provider | Up to 30 days for safety monitoring, then deleted. Not used for training. |
| Who used which tool, and review marks (the AI Activity Log) | Ramtek's database | With the account, until its data is deleted. Never includes question or answer text. |
| Free-trial data | Ramtek's database | 30 days after the trial ends, then deleted. |
Application hosting processes data in the United States. The database provider and its region are available on request. This page describes the service as of October 2026; the Security page and Privacy notice carry the full wording.
Four things we do not do.
- No training on your work. Ramtek does not use firm data to train models, and the AI provider's API terms bar it.
- No selling or sharing for ads. Firm data is processed to provide the service you asked for, not monetized.
- No automatic sending or filing. Drafts, proposed deadlines and changes to your records wait for an attorney.
- No claim of zero retention. The AI provider may hold a request for up to 30 days, and we say so.
Put it in your vendor file.
