Your contract review, inside Word.

Open a contract in Microsoft Word and run the review from the side panel. The risk review lists what to look at. You can also select a clause and have it rewritten, or draft new text at the cursor. On Professional and up, the playbook check compares the contract with your firm's standard positions and adds each proposed change as a Word tracked change with a comment. You accept or reject every one yourself.

What it does

Review and redline, where you work.

Tracked changes, not overwrites

The playbook check adds each proposed change as a Word tracked change with a comment that explains it. The original text stays until you accept.

Exact matches only

A change goes in only where the quoted clause appears word for word. Otherwise it is added at the end of the document as a tracked addition, so nothing lands in the wrong place.

Rewrite a clause, draft new text

Select a clause and press Rewrite, or place the cursor and press Draft. Add an instruction if you want one. The result arrives as one tracked change with a comment. If your firm has a playbook, a rewrite follows the matching position.

Confidentiality

The contract stays in your account.

The text you review goes to Ramtek and is saved with your firm's other analyses.

The short version

The add-in sends the text you have open to Ramtek for the review, the same as the Contract Analyzer on the web. Our AI provider is barred from training on it and may keep requests up to 30 days for safety monitoring. The add-in signs in with a token that lasts 12 hours and can reach only the review features, not the rest of your account.

Questions

Before you open the side panel.

Do I need to install anything?

Yes, once, from the install page. Word shows the add-in as a side panel with a Ramtek group on the Home tab.

Does it change my contract?

The risk review does not change the document. The playbook check, rewrite and draft add tracked changes with comments, and nothing is final until you accept each one.

What if a clause is not found word for word?

The playbook check adds that finding at the end of the document as a tracked addition, so nothing is placed in the wrong spot.

Can it rewrite one clause or draft new text?

Yes. Select a clause and choose Rewrite selected clause, or place the cursor and choose Draft and insert at cursor. The result is a tracked change with a comment, so you accept or reject it. A rewrite follows your playbook when it has a matching position.

How many AI actions does it use?

A risk review, a rewrite or a draft uses one. A playbook check uses two and is available on Professional and up.

Where does it run?

It is built for Microsoft Word. We have tested it in Word on the web, and the install page has steps for Word on a desktop.

Is the review legal advice?

No. It is a draft for an attorney to check. Nothing is final until a licensed attorney has reviewed it.

Seven days, no card required.

Results are drafts for attorney review. Nothing is filed, sent or signed for you. The same review also runs in the Contract Analyzer.
