Transcript Analyzer

Specifications

How Transcript Analyzer works, what it includes, and where its limits are.

Use

How it works

1

Add the transcript

Upload a Word or PDF transcript, or paste the text. Page and line numbers can stay in.

2

Say what to focus on (optional)

For example, the timing of a meeting, or what the witness knew about a contract.

3

Read the analysis

It arrives as text you can read as it is written: summary, timeline, admissions, contradictions, objections, questions, and what to verify.

4

Check the quotes and use it

The quote check at the end says which quoted passages could not be found word for word. Check those, then copy the analysis or download it as Word or PDF.

Includes

What it includes, in full

Contradictions with both sides quoted

Where the witness says one thing on one page and another later, the analysis gives both statements, quoted, with where each appears. If it finds none it says so rather than stretching to find one.

Page and line cites only when they are real

If your transcript shows page and line numbers, the analysis cites them. If it does not, the analysis quotes the words instead. It is told never to make up a location.

A quote check at the end

Every passage in quotation marks is compared with the transcript. The analysis reports how many were found word for word and lists any that were not, so you know exactly which to check.

Follow-up questions you can ask aloud

Up to ten questions for cross-examination or a further deposition, each tied to a passage or a gap in the record.

A list of what to verify

Unclear speakers, garbled passages, testimony that could be read two ways, missing pages and any date it had to infer are listed at the end.

Limits

The limits, stated plainly

Length

One analysis reads up to 150,000 characters, about 90 pages of a typical transcript. Split a longer transcript and analyze each part. A larger transcript is refused with that message rather than cut off.

Scanned transcripts

A scanned PDF has no text layer, so paste its text. The page tells you when a PDF has no readable text.

Page and line numbers

They are cited only when they appear in the text you give it. A PDF that places line numbers oddly may be cited less precisely, so check a cite against the page when it matters.

AI actions

One analysis counts as one AI action. It also counts toward the firm's monthly allowance for the most advanced tools (Case Brief Analysis, Litigation Strategy and this one together).

The quote check

It looks for each quoted passage in the transcript text, ignoring case, spacing and curly versus straight quotes. A quote a person would call a close paraphrase is reported as not found, which is the point.

What it does not do

  • Reach legal conclusions: it describes what the testimony says and leaves what it means to you
  • Fill gaps in the record with a guess: a gap is listed under what to verify
  • Check the transcript against the audio or the certified original: check the errata sheet yourself
  • Read a transcript longer than about 90 pages in one go
  • Replace attorney review
