Specifications
How Website Intake works, what it includes, and what controls the result.
How it works
Build it in the builder
Name it, write the greeting, set its instructions, pick the button color and add your logo. A preview shows exactly what visitors will see.
Paste one piece of code on your site
The builder gives you a short piece of code. Your web person pastes it into your website, and the chat button appears.
It talks to the visitor
It greets them, asks about their matter one question at a time, and collects their name, phone number, email address and any key dates.
The firm gets the lead
When the visitor leaves an email address, the contact is saved to Matter Management, a follow-up is drafted for an attorney to review, and the firm is emailed.
What it includes, in full
Greeting and instructions
You write what it says first and how it behaves. The default instructions collect name, phone and email, ask about the matter and key dates, say an attorney will follow up within one business day, and never give legal advice.
Short replies
One to three short sentences, under 70 words, one question at a time.
Contact saved to Matter Management
When an email address appears, the name, phone number and a two-to-three sentence matter summary are saved as a new Inquiry. The same email address is never saved twice.
Follow-up draft
A short, warm email from the firm to the visitor, saved with the contact for an attorney to review, edit and send. It is never sent for you.
Email to the firm
The firm administrator is emailed the lead and the draft. Nobody has to log in to find out.
AI notice
A permanent line in the chat says it is an AI assistant, that the conversation is recorded and shared with the firm, and that it is not legal advice.
Your branding
Your own logo on Professional and Enterprise, a button color you choose, and an optional label next to the button such as "Chat with us". The "Powered by Ramtek Intelligence" line can be removed on Enterprise.
Runs on any site
It loads from a short piece of code and works on an ordinary website, including one built on a website service.
Test before you publish
A preview and a test chat inside the builder, so you see the real conversation before a visitor does.
How the result is controlled
No legal advice
Its instructions tell it never to give legal advice, and to say an attorney will advise when asked.
It says it is an AI
The notice stays visible in the chat, so no visitor believes they are talking to a person or an attorney.
One question at a time
Short replies keep a worried visitor from being handed a wall of text.
Nothing sent for you
The follow-up is a draft. An attorney reads it before anything reaches the visitor.
No duplicates
A visitor who chats again with the same email address does not create a second contact.
Hard to misuse
Attempts to turn it into a general chatbot are steered back to intake, and a conversation has a size limit.
What it does not do
It does not advise
It collects facts. The attorney advises.
It does not send for you
No message goes to the visitor on the firm's behalf.
It does not book or charge
It does not schedule consultations or take payment.
It does not decide who to take
It does not accept or reject a matter. The attorney decides what to do with every inquiry.
Setting it up, and how firms use it
You decide how it greets visitors and what it asks them.
Name and greeting
The name visitors see and the first message they read.
Instructions
What it asks, what it avoids and what it promises, in your words. Practice-specific questions go here.
Look
Your logo, a button color that matches your site and an optional label next to the button.
How firms use it
After hours
Inquiries at night and on weekends get a first conversation instead of a missed call.
Personal injury intake
Collect the date of the injury and the injury itself before the first call.
Family law
A calm first conversation for a visitor who may not want to phone.
Landlord and tenant
Gather move-out dates, notices and amounts so the attorney starts informed.
Immigration
Collect status, country and the question before the consultation.
Overflow
When the front desk is busy, visitors still leave their details.
